Gas Prices dropped on Monday 0.8 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.98 per gallon. The Gas Prices are 1.4 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and 90.6 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.
According to GasBuddy, the Gas at the cheapest station in Worcester was priced at $2.75 Monday, while the most expensive was $3.22 per gallon, a difference of 47 cents. The average price of gas remained the same at $3.02 per gallon in Massachusetts on Monday from last week.
The lowest gas price in Worcester was $2.44 while the highest was $4.19, a difference of $1.75 per gallon.Nationally, the average price of gasoline has risen 0.6 cents per gallon in the last week and averaging $3.18 per gallon Monday. The national average is up 3.5 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands at $1.02 per gallon higher than a year ago.
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy said that the motorists have noticed the surge in Gas Prices over the last week, even as the price of oil saw selling pressure. This leads me to believe that the tide may soon turn on Gas Prices, so long as we don’t see hurricanes target the country.Last week the Gas Prices dropped. It has dropped to 2.5 cents per gallon. The Head of petroleum analysis also said that he noticed a drop in demand last week. The average gas price in Boston on Monday was $3.03 per gallon, unchanged from last week.
