As analysts continue to see increased growth in US exports of natural gas, the Environmental Groups requested to halt the construction of New Terminals of LNG. The Environmental Groups pointed that constructing new natural gas facilities may impact health of nearby residents.
The natural gas exports from US have been made through oil tankers and pipelines recording as more as 600 million cubic feet per day in 2021. However, several Environmental groups requested to the a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency advisory council that projects installed to meet the growing demand can have bad impact on the residents staying nearby the new proposed facility Commonwealth LNG export terminal situated in Cameron.
The new facility will process the natural gas extracted from nearby natural gas well. The LNG will be delivered to electrical power plants in Europe and Asia. The agency raised multiple concerns regarding resident’s health as well as blamed the petrochemical industry for making fake promises of jobs and business opportunities.
Along with several Environmental groups, Sierra Club, Beard’s group, and many other joined the meeting held with Justice Advisory Council and discussed the ill-effects of starting the new facility. However, new facilities Commonwealth LNG project are helping U.S. to meet its rising demand for natural gas exports.
